Be here now...

By Tami LoPresti

Yesterday is gone.

  • There is literally no way to touch 1 minute ago.
  • No matter how good or bad yesterday was, it cannot reach you again in this moment.
  • The path erases behind you the moment it passes. Go ahead...try to touch it again...you can't!

Tomorrow isn’t here yet.

  • You cannot do any single thing tomorrow right now, no matter how much you obsess about what is to come.
  • Whether tomorrow looks good or bad, you cannot get there today without a time machine. And if you have one....bring it on over here, so I can use it too! Please...?
  • The future may look appealing when the present doesn't look quite the way you'd like it to. But even if your arms extended to the moon, they could not touch one single minute into tomorrow right now. Sorry if you've been working on those super extendable arms. (I'm not really sorry. Arms that reach to the moon actually sound silly to me. But hey...work on what you like I guess. But don't be disappointed when it doesn't work. K? I tried to tell you.)

The present moment is the only thing that is real. (Seriously...you can touch it! Well sorta kinda anyway.)

Learn to live here, now, or forfeit your entire life chasing the past or the future. The truth is neither the past, nor the future even actually exist.

  • The past is nice to visit sometimes. And the future is enticing to imagine, of course. It is best to spend most of your time in the present though. That is where you get to have all the choices.
  • In the present you can create any future you can possibly imagine.
  • You only have control over your life right now.

"Your point of power is always in the present moment"-Louise Hay

Take back your life right now by learning how to come back to the present moment.

>>If you are struggling with being present, try this:

(It’ll take less than 3 mins, and you can do it any time you lose focus, to bring yourself back to this very moment in time.)

Step 1-Put down your phone, turn off the tv or computer, make sure that every possible distraction around you is turned off or somewhere else, for just a few minutes.

Step 2-Close your eyes.

Step 3-Take 3 slow deep breaths. (inhale to the count of 4, hold it to the count of 4, then exhale to the count of 4)

Step 4-Open your eyes and look around you.

>>Now ask yourself these questions:

Where am I right now?

How does it feel to be here right now?

What do I hear around me?

What do I see around me?

Why is this the best place I can possibly be right now?

>>Congratulations! You have found yourself back in the present moment.

Do this any time, as often as you'd like. If you find yourself thinking too much in the past or in the future again, you now know how to bring yourself back, anytime you wish.

And this will always center you, right back to where you belong. In the only moment that truly matters. The one you actually have control in. Right here and right now. In the beautiful, magnificent present moment.☼
